How to show that your business uses or works with Google technology

This guidance is meant for anyone looking to use Google's brand in their work. If your company has an official brand partnership, make sure you’re signed into the Partner Marketing Hub for more detailed guidance and assets.

Showing product compatibility

Google products power a lot of connections, which means that other companies often want to show that their products work with ours. If you fall into that category, follow the guidelines below.

DO

Use plain text. For example, you could say your product or service “works with,” “is compatible with,” or “integrates with” a Google product. Make sure the reference is relevant and accurate. Check with the product’s team or developer documentation for more specific guidance.

DO

Use product screenshots sparingly. For example, if you want to create a tutorial video that shows users how to connect your products with ours, using screenshots of a Google product makes sense.

DO

Use product icons only when necessary. For example, you could show a grid of products that are compatible with your services or show a product UI that indicates an action (like opening something in Google Docs). In these cases, remember that Google’s product icons are most recognizable in context. Make sure it doesn’t seem like this is coming from Google.

Referring to Google APIs

Google APIs are an important building block for many products from other companies. To show that your product was built with Google APIs:

  • Use plain text
  • Use specific language that’s clear about how the API is used and doesn’t overstate the relationship
  • Adhere to our Google APIs Terms of Service plus any terms of service for the specific API you’re using

Product visuals

You can show screenshots of Google products and services for illustrative or informative purposes related to your app or service. For general guidelines on how to represent Google screenshots and UI, see Product visuals.

DO

Use screenshots of relevant Google products in instructions that appear on your website, videos, advertisements, or documentation.

DON'T

While light annotations on product screenshots are okay, don’t add or change any other elements.

If you’re using our trademarks, include a legal line in the footer or other appropriate area of your product, website, or other materials.

Services for Google products

Some companies specialize in Google products and can offer services like developing Android apps, or helping companies move their work to Google Cloud. If your work falls into this category, follow these guidelines when referring to the Google brand.

DO

Use plain text, with language that’s clear and accurate. Make sure the reference doesn’t imply something bigger like an endorsement, affiliation, or official partnership with Google.

DON'T

Don’t use product icons by themselves Remember that product icons aren’t the same as Google’s logos, and aren’t always as recognizable to users.
