Google Photos lockup
Layouts
There are two layouts available for the Google Photos lockup:
Vertical lockup
Use this version in layouts where there is not enough space for the horizontal lockup. In some cases, the icon should be used instead. Always get permission before using the vertical lockup.
Color versions
There are three color versions available for the Google Photos lockup:
Full color
Use this version on white backgrounds or light backgrounds with a maximum 5% black tint.
Use sparingly over imagery – only on very bright images that are over-exposed or where the background is out of focus.
Monochrome white
Use this version on dark or patterned backgrounds, or on imagery when there’s enough contrast. It can be placed on dark backgrounds within a range of 40% to 100% black tint.
Monochrome Gray
Use this version on white or light backgrounds within a range of 0% to 40% black tint.
Backgrounds
Keep these guidelines in mind when placing the lockup over imagery:
Use monochrome lockups on a flat color or simple portions of photography.
Use lockups in a way that doesn’t cover people’s faces.
Place lockups over simple imagery with enough contrast to ensure legibility.
Use the full-color lockup over white or light-colored sections of photos.
Use the full color lockup on bright and out of focus backgrounds.
Clear space
Use half the height of the icon to determine the minimum amount of clear space on all sides of the lockup.
Clear space requirements (horizontal)
Clear space requirements (vertical)
Things to avoid
Don’t alter the lockup in any way, including changing the typeface, proportions, coloring, or position of the elements. Always use the artwork exactly as provided.
Don’t omit the icon. The wordmark should never be used on its own.
Don’t create a black monochrome version of the lockup.
Co-marketing lockups
Co-marketing lockups are a way to combine your logo with the Google Photos lockup.
To create a co-marketing lockup,
- Place the Google Photos lockup to the right of your logo
- Use only the full-color version of the Google Photos lockup
- Make sure the Google Photos lockup and your logo take up an equal amount of visual space
- Follow the clear space requirements for the Google Photos lockup
Horizontal co-marketing lockup
Vertical co-marketing lockup
Keep the following guidelines in mind when creating a co-marketing lockup:
Choose the Google Photos lockup that occupies the same visual space as your own logo.
Don’t create co-marketing lockups that stack logos vertically.
If the background of the creative isn’t white, create a white header or footer to house the co-marketing lockup.
Don’t place the Google Photos lockup in a way that violates clear space requirements.
